December
Deserts - Being away from home on Christmas for the first time ever is probably the hardest part of traveling abroad for a year. It's difficult to get into the spirit of the holidays when you feel like you're missing so much. Nevertheless, I've made it my mission to bring the tradition of Christmas cookies to Chile. This has been no easy feat as finding the right ingredients is super confusing in Spanish, there are no real measuring devices in my shared house, and understanding a Chilean oven to find the correct temperature is beyond me. I was successful though in making our roommates sugar cookies and no-bake cookies!
Drinks - Despite being away for the holidays I have had some great opportunities to drink and celebrate everything that has happened this year. Most notably has been my completion of my master's degree classes. I have also been celebrating the opportunities I've had to explore the world, meet interesting new people, gaining a better understanding of different cultures, and all with my best friend.
Discover - Since coming to Santiago, Chile at the beginning of December we have not had an enormous amount of time to explore. We have had opportunities to climb Cerro Santa Lucia, Cerro San Cristobal, and walk through many of the Barrios to take in colorful murals, many street vendors, and markets.
Dream - Where should we go next?
